The artist works in a style of illuminated realism; that is, the image you retain in your memory or informed by emotion. She enjoys using layering techniques and enough detail to give her work a solid feel. Color and the play of light are important to her vision.
I really enjoyed using a cartoon drawn by one of my son's in this one. The blue and yellow color scheme seemed to capture summer and made me think of the counterpoint idea - playing off each other but in different ways.
