I work in a style of illuminated realism; that is, the image you retain in your memory or informed by emotion. I enjoy using layering techniques and enough detail to give my work a solid feel. Color and the play of light are important to my vision.

Although mainly a studio artist I truly enjoy plein air and feel it helps me in the studio as well. Plus the camaraderie at plein air events is wonderful. I participate every year in the Eagle Plein Air Festival and try to get out several other times a year as well....
I have lived in the south at various times (Louisiana, Florida, North Carolina and Virginia) and it has a feel all it's own...Recent travels have provided even more inspiration.
Hawaii drew us in and made us at home....
