I work in a style of illuminated realism; that is, the image you retain in your memory or informed by emotion. I enjoy using layering techniques and enough detail to give my work a solid feel. Color and the play of light are important to my vision.

Sprouting

Camping at Fisherman’s Island State Park in Michigan gave access to woodsy rambles from campsite to beach. The mushrooms and fungi are as lovely to paint as the little wildflowers popping up that spring.
