I work in a style of illuminated realism; that is, the image you retain in your memory or informed by emotion. I enjoy using layering techniques and enough detail to give my work a solid feel. Color and the play of light are important to my vision.

The Wreck of the Peter Iredale

I am fascinated by shipwrecks - in particular the detritus left behind and the changes it goes through over the decades. This one, on the Oregon coast, felt like an abstract sculpture and I loved the harsh colors against the soft misty beach aspect.
